Marcus Evans gives us access to high level contacts

“The Summits have allowed us to make high level contacts in companies we have not done business with before and helped us restart good dialogues with a few existing customers. The new contacts we might potentially do business with represent hundreds of thousands of dollars of potential,” says Victor Grin, Director, New Business, CSS (Connecticut Spring & Stamping), a solution provider at the Marcus Evans Medical Device Manufacturing Summit and the Medical Device R&D Summit.

What new possibilities have the Summits brought to your organization?

The advantage of a Marcus Evans Summit is the targeted, pre-scheduled, face-to-face meetings with high quality contacts. Out of 10-12 one-on-one meetings at each event, at least 8-10 were with executives we wanted to start a relationship with to explore the possibility of working together.

We will probably do business with two or three of the companies we met. The potential business some of them represent is in the hundreds of thousands of dollars each.

The existing customers we met again were all relatively large organizations where we did not have contacts in other divisions. The Summit gave us that opportunity.

The industry presentations and updates were also valuable. It was information we would not have known if we had not attended.

Were you already trying to access those companies?

Yes, many of them. What has been very helpful is the information Marcus Evans provides about the delegates ahead of time, which gives us the chance to target who we want to meet and prepare.

We had tried to approach decision-makers in about half of the companies we met.

How do the Summits compare with other industry events?

With the Marcus Evans Summits, we get one-on-one meetings with a number of decision-makers all in one place over the course of two days. Other conferences and trade shows we have participated in do not have this format. Marcus Evans can be a good value because of the contacts and pre-arranged meetings.

The one-on-one meeting format is great because we can quickly learn about each other’s business to see if there is a fit.

In this industry, how easy is it to access decision-makers?

It is pretty difficult if you have never been introduced or involved with the target company before. That is why we like Marcus Evans events.
