Our meetings at the Marcus Evans Summits were very valuable

“The Marcus Evans Summits have bought us different business opportunities. We have discussed opportunities with vendors we had previously ignored, and also discovered new services from our existing business partners we had worked with before” said Sheldon Pink, Chief of Revenue Cycle Management, American Academic Health System LLC, a delegate at the Marcus Evans Healthcare CEO & Executive Strategy Summit, Healthcare CFO, Financial Strategy & Revenue Cycle Summit, and the Value-Based Care Summit.

What possibilities and opportunities have the Summits brought to your organization?

Marcus Evans does a great job of covering the service lines we might need. We have been introduced to many innovative technologies for different healthcare revenue cycle business needs. The meetings with some of the vendors were very valuable, and we are considering them for future needs. The conversations are valuable even if we are currently a business partner or have worked with the company in a previous organization.

How did meeting a few of your existing vendors at the Summit help? Did they have new offerings?

Absolutely. I had met two of the companies before, but at the Summit one company discussed a new service line I was unaware of, which provided an advantage over the other technology. The second vendor advised us on how we could optimize the program we had already purchased.

It is still a win-win if you meet a vendor you are already in contract with, because now they can talk about expanding their services and you finally get a one-on-one discussion with a C-suite or VP level leader you wanted to discuss optimizations with in the past. Spending time with those vendors was very valuable.

Would you have considered those services if those vendors had approached you directly?

Our vendors are always sending emails or flyers, but I ignore them. This time I was able to sit down and talk to them about their new services.

When new vendors approach us, I ignore them due to an overlap in existing services. I receive several emails every day, asking us to try them for a contingency period. At some point you just ignore them, because there is no way you can keep up with all that mail and the continual change if you were to accept each conditional arrangement.

How many vendors are you still considering for future work?

here are at least three companies on my radar. Sometimes it is not just about their products, but where we are on our journey or road map. It may not be the right time
