“Our one-on-one meetings at the Summit led to two new projects. We have already started a large, cross-functional project with a marketing agency and will be initiating a medium-sized project with an innovative technology company that Marcus Evans introduced us to,” said Thomas Zipp, Senior Director of Marketing, Halozyme, a delegate at the Marcus Evans PharmaMarketing Summit.
I had interesting interactions with multiple vendors. I met a full-service marketing agency and was very impressed with their capabilities. After subsequent conversations, I eventually engaged this vendor in a significant project targeted at enhancing one of our programs. I also met a leading-edge technology company that will help us improve some of our digital tools. This will be a very valuable project for us.
I am also having follow-up conversations with a few more firms and may end up working together in the future.
No, I had not heard of them. There are so many agencies out there. There wasn’t a reason for me to look for them. But when I came across their profile on the Marcus Evans app, they looked like vendors worth meeting. That is how it all started. They are both small, niche companies, so their visibility outside of their client base is quite limited. It is very unlikely that I would have stumbled upon them on my own.
No, if they had just cold called us. I receive many calls and emails from vendors, and I ignore 99 percent of them. It really is the “magic” of having a captive audience at the Summit, the chance to really understand services and get to know the vendors, that generates the interest.
Yes, it was highly efficient and effective. Thirty minutes is just enough time to decide if you’re interested. I always have relevant, good discussions.
I have attended many conferences, but I find that Marcus Evans events are the best in terms of overall quality of attendees, vendors, speakers, the information presented and the venue. The presentations get me thinking more broadly about our business, what topics to keep in mind and trends to follow. We network with our peers and discuss what they’re doing. It is a chance to step away from our day-to-day tasks and look at the bigger picture. The vendor interactions are also very valuable—as noted, real projects came out of them
