“At the CMO Summit, I connected with service providers I wouldn't typically encounter in my
day-toto-day work. Through those conversations, I discovered two excellent agencies and
engaged them on short short-term projects that aligned with our business needs at the time. We
ultimately moved forward with both providers, providers” said Natalie Postruzin, Head of Marketing AU/
NZ, Triumph Group, a delegate at the Marcus Evans CMO Summit.
It was great meeting new suppliers and industry leaders. It's very rare for everyone in the industry to get together in the same place at once, talk, and share ideas. It was a good opportunity to discover how the marketing landscape is changing and what service providers can offer. There are so many agencies and marketing service providers across the APAC region that we don't get the opportunity to meet all of them.
I have had around five meetings after the Summit and started short short-term projects with two agencies. We did a shoot with one agency and a TikTok campaign with another. Once it's finished and we have the results, we may consider working on some larger scale projects together.
No, I had never heard of either of them as they are both based in other states. In general, we would have gone straight to our existing agencies for support and not entertained small independent shops in other states.
Probably not. I receive many cold calls and emails on a weekly basis, and I rarely respond. It is very unlikely that I would have given them a chance if they came through via cold call or email. It was the Summit environment, the fact that we were all there, open to having conversations without distraction. When in the office at my desk, I am highly concentrated on managing marketing operations and my team. At the Summit, it is a highly concentrated environment across two days where you have the time and space to meet people at the scheduled meetings and organically during the break break-out sessions. It is far from receiving a cold call on a busy day, as you are there to network and get to know people and businesses.
There aren't any CMO Summits like the Marcus Evans one. The format is great. All the staff were super helpful. Some presentations were very interesting and applicable to us. It was lovely meeting like like-minded people in our industry. The knowledge knowledge-sharing, learning what had succeeded and failed at other businesses, was very valuable.
