The Elite Summit had a very good success ratio

“The success rate of the Summit was very high – our family office invested in one out of the 15 fund managers we met, and we are following-up with two more,” said Massimo Maurelli, Chief Investment Officer, Spafid Family Office SIM, a delegate at the Marcus Evans Elite Summit.

What new possibilities and opportunities did the Summit bring your way?

A better understanding of the dynamics of the market, and some interesting contacts. We met a fund manager from a well-known organisation in the industry. It’s a big name, but we had no direct relationship with them before. We have now
made an investment on behalf of our clients. The Summit was a great opportunity to meet and start building relationships in different innovative sectors such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchains and Cryptos.

Is it difficult to find investment solutions that fit your criteria?

We are a multi-family office, a regulated financial entity under the supervision of local authorities, so we need to go through a vigorous due diligence process. On average, when we meet 100 managers, we select around five and end up investing in maximum two funds. The fund manager we met was very professional, super focused on understanding what we were searching for. At the end, if I spend one and a half days at an event, and out of 15 meetings I end up investing in one, it is a very successful rate.

How would you compare the Summit with other industry events?

The Elite Summit was very interesting because I met different people from all around the world and spent time with my peers and other institutional investors such as large pension funds from the US and the Nordics. The Elite Summit was
definitely beneficial.

I have 25+ years of experience in the market. I already have my own network, but the Summit allowed me to add value to my network and existing knowledge of market participants.
